Whether you seek information on starting a business or expanding existing operations, the Business Resource Library can be a useful research tool.
Books
We have an extensive collection of hard copy materials in our library. We now have sections dedicated to:

Our Accounting/Bookkeeping section has materials relating to finance, accounting for small business and taxes.
Our Entrepreneurship section has books to assist you with your business ideas. We have do-it-yourself kits and books which show you how to start a business. Step-by-step guides to effective business plan writing, as well as a variety of self help booklets. We have a series of books in our Import/Export section, which show the economic climate in more than 50 countries. We have books that demonstrate Effective Management and others to assist you with marketing.
Although the Business Resource Library is not a lending institution, we have comfortable facilities where visitors can examine materials without being disturbed. We will photocopy portions of books and articles for you - up to 20 pages per visit are permitted, free.

We have two state-of-the-art multimedia systems loaded with business related software, including:
• Business Plan Templates - Step-by-step guides to electronically assist you with formulating a business plan.
• Pictou County Chamber of Commerce Business Directory - An online listing of businesses in the Pictou County area.
• EY Passport - This database accompanies the Doing Business Around the World book set. It contains four levels of information:
- Doing Business Around the World - profiles of the business climate around the world.
- Offshore Financial Centre Tax Guide and Directory - summarizes corporate tax law and other significant attributes of more than 20 countries.
- Tax News International
- Worldwide Corporate Tax Guide and Directory.
We also have word processing, spreadsheets, and database management software at your disposal, as well as access to our video library and audio/visual system. We have videos to help you with:

The Business Resource Library is proud to provide the business public with free access to the world wide web. We offer DSL access with the world at your fingertips. Access one of the many search engines and locate business information, government agencies and research data for business plans.
