With all three orders of government represented as well as private sector associations such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Business Service Centre provides you easy access to various business support programs.
If your requirements take you beyond the scope of the Business Service Centre, we can make the introductions for you to the appropriate contacts locally or around the world. Our centre is designed to be user-friendly, efficient and above all, helpful to you.

• Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA): Financial, marketing and feasibility contributions to create, expand, or modernize business.
• Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI): Lines of business includes: business attraction, business retention and expansion, trade promotion, and lending & finance.
• Northern Opportunities for Business Ltd. (NOBL): Small business loans, counseling on business proposals, business plans, financial spreadsheets, income support for some establishing businesses, and equity financing.
• Pictou County Chamber of Commerce: Provide a united voice for the business community and sponsors business related economic development activities.
• Pictou County Tourist Association: The association is a membership-driven, coordinating organization dedicated to the growth of the tourism industry in Pictou County.
• Pictou Regional Development Commission: Promotes the growth of the local business community and coordinates business development activities.
• Self Employment Benefit Program (SEB): Assisting employment insurance and social assistance recipients in developing and implementing self-employment business ideas.
• Black Business Investment Fund: This fund serves as an investment option for the Black Business community in Nova Scotia and it has the support of the provincial authorities. This community-focused Fund is created to facilitate economic growth and enhance prosperity within the Nova Scotia Black community.
• Nova Scotia Department of Education (Apprenticeship Training & Skills Development)
• Business Resource Library: At the Business Service Centre's Resource Library you will find information ranging from starting a business to expanding your existing operations.
The Business Resource Library is an affiliate of the Canadian/Nova Scotia Business Service Centre.
• Community Access Program (C@P): Free access to computers and computer training is provided at the C@P Site or at your place of business or home office. Small group training sessions can be setup to meet your needs. Please phone 752-6159 for an appointment or more information.
